How the Chamber Works
With the growth of the Chamber we are increasingly consulted before decisions are made in many major areas including Highways, Planning and Development. Most of the work done by the Chamber is dealt with by Committees such as Retail Committee, Transport, Planning and Conservation Committee, Festival Committee and Executive Committee. The Executive Committee considers, plans, projects and reports along with the other committee's comments and reports to every General Meeting. New members are encouraged to take part in committee work. Although the Chamber is essentially an opportunity for members to promote their business interests and those of Truro's business generally like most organisations it has a social side.

Truro Chamber of Commerce will:

  • Give you a platform to voice your approval or complaints about what is happening in Truro.
  • Help shape the future.
  • Keep you informed.
  • Give you the opportunity of meeting the business community of Truro away from their shops and offices.
The City of Truro Chamber of Commerce is the oldest and largest group of businesses represented by a Chamber of Commerce in Cornwall. Our members are invited to regular meetings with presentations of issues relating to members and their businesses. These meetings are popular gatherings as they offer an opportunity to network and to meet Chamber officers and leaders of business. The meetings also provide an opportunity to gather opinion on matters of importance to our City and to feed it to the Executive Committee.
